Walt Disney Pictures CEO Bob Iger confirmed the rumors that they were looking at doing stand-alone Star Wars movies that would focus on individual characters from the Star Wars Universe. Internet rumors started circling that a stand-alone Yoda movie may be the first movie done but Entertainment Weekly have been told by sources that the first two movies will focus on a 'young Han Solo saga, focusing on the wisecracking smuggler’s origin story, and a bounty hunter adventure with Boba Fett at the center of a rogue’s gallery of galactic scum.'

The Han Solo story would take place between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope and would have a new younger actor for the lead. The Boba Fett movie would take place between A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi up to the point where he plunges into the sarlaac pit. In the original trilogy, Fett never removed his helmet so anyone could play the role. Depending on the movie and if Fett is to remove his helmet than the studio would look into getting a bigger name to play the role.

Sources confirmed this was the direction the development was taking, although they cautioned it’s still very early in the process. Lucasfilm and Disney declined to comment on the information.
