Well, pipes generally aren't made with lead anymore, so unless the pipes in your home were very old, you might be hard pressed to find one. I still think the Clue makeover is pointless, though. A kid can appreciate that it was Professor Plum in the kitchen with the revolver as much as that is was the video game designer Plum dude in the spa with the pistol (because clearly revolvers are too archaic).

How could you have never played CLUE?

Basis for the strip:

Ah ha....I see!

For those who don't understand the strip: Clue is a classic board game revolving around a murder mystery, with the goal being to figure it out first. It recently got a makeover for a 21st century audience (rolls eyes) because clearly kids can't delight in a classic whodunit unless it's up to date. Anyway, after the makeover, they got rid of the lead pipe as a potential weapon.

I hope that was helpful.

Yeah, BOTH these posts were helpful.

I was thinking it was more of a take on the whole LEAD paint (in toys) fiasco, and they're so paranoid about it...they even took the fake LEAD pipe out of the Clue game? I guess it's more to do with them just trying to update the game and figured lead pipes (or pipes in general) aren't as much the weapon of choice for murderers as they once were? @lol@

I know they just signed a law about no lead in toys.

Very small niche'!

ActionFigureFool - 2008-08-24 @ 11:44 pm

That was another way of saying that no one gets it but the creator and if you do get it,you are part of an elite small niche group.

Don't jump down my throat because i don't get it either.

Gee...

I thought maybe somebody would take 2 seconds to try and explain the "spoof" instead of defending the spoofer.

oh well.
