Disney's Star Wars Plans To Be Revealed Next Year

Bespin refugee - August 05, 2014
During a conference call with analysts, Walt Disney company chief Bob Iger said plans for Star Wars based attractions will be revealed next year. With the likelihood of success for brand based attractions, plans are said to call for "“a far greater ‘Star Wars’ presence” in [Disney's] theme parks." Leading up to next year's release of Episode VII, Lucasfilm and Disney will host Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim on April 16-19;“Star Wars” is also expected to have a major presence at the D23 Expo, Aug. 14-16.

Disney was once talking about making another theme park at Disney World An entire Star Wars Land would of been cool

Does anyone really enjoy the Animal Kingdom park? Epcot? Sounds like prime real estate to me.

Actually as for Epcot yes they do.I can say that because everytime I have gone there it is always crowded

Indiana Jones Attraction Closing, To Make Room For Star Wars Land?

I missed this headline, but ive been saying this will happen all along. And it's a @##@@ shame. Disney could be revitalizing Indiana Jones simultaneously, but no...sold and bought, now get in the back of the vault with Kermit and Uncle Remus, Dr. Jones.

Thats a huge area. Before you can get to Star tours you have to go by American Idol first and the Indy experience is off the the left of Star Tours. This will be much larger then I first thought

In the Hollywood Studios in Orlando they are removing the Muppet area to make the area near Star Tours bigger. As for Cars Land they will use the Car stunt show area for that

Kids frikken LOVE Cars.

I love me some Star Wars, but this sounds like it may very well dilute the brand. We'll see. That Star Tours ride I took (several times) at Disneyland Tokyo (because trust me, the Japanese one is WAY better) was one of the coolest things ever, so there's certainly possibilites.

ive got an Episode 1 tissue box cover that says dilution happened a looong time ago. lol
